I am the Mother Road

3,729 miles later, i'm home and ready to cut my hair. it's an act of mourning for the road behind and hope for the new roads of the future. new york showed a life perfectly aligned with destiny in the form of one miss kfw, while jm proved that you don't have to know exactly what you're doing to live beautifully. in wilkes-barre, the loss of our boys fades into the backgroud as good beer, friendly phillies fans, and rb's mom's nut-cupping story take center stage. michigan was a magical combination of history, death, fascination, and the lively glow exuding from within skl proving that detroit can, indeed, give life. memphis provided inspiration in the form of stax soul music and the lamplighter lounge, where ten minutes was all it took to fall in love with the dive bar and it's patrons. just a warning; memphis will make you do crazy things like eating a dizzying amont of dry ribs after 10 years of vegetarianism. other fond memories include dunkin deeznuts, tom's (aka chom's) diner, "welcome to budweiser", phantom mustaches, my first new york slice, connecticut's fall colors, annie mcvay's unique eatery, fried macaroni & cheese balls, rust belt beauty, belle isle, detroit's haunted train station, tootsie pops and laffy taffy, ohio rest stops, cafe d'mongo's, the meaning of life and a peanut butter cookie, fort smith friendliness, 500 sodas, baby buffalo hats and melodies, new mexican food, and an eternal gratitude to my traveling companions, jg and b, who should give seminars on adventure, love, sunsets, generosity, photo ops, blackberries, hope, humor, and friendship. they should also give me a haircut as i hold them responsible for my excitement about life and readiness for change.
